Ulster ED go live

1 min read

The Ulster hospital has introduced a range of floor mount self service kiosks into their busy emergency department.

The Ulster hospital has 90,000 Emergency Department attendances per year and have worked with the Savience team to build a tailored version of Savience CareExpress. The Savience system links directly to the hospitals Emergency System, eEMS, using secure messages which have been mutually designed.

Data entered by the patient on touch screens streams (triage) patients on arrival and prioritise those in need of urgent care. Allowing complete demographic checks at the kiosk, the patient can triage themselves, without intervention from the reception teams. Patients are streamed for rapid pain relief, to see a consultant or directed to a waiting area if their condition is not serious.

The system reduces pressures on the front line teams and ensures that patients are directed to receive the most appropriate and beneficial treatment.

Building Brilliance.
