Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has successfully enhanced their patient flow and data quality with Savience’s digital solutions.  This has been particularly useful in the busy outpatient department. The initiative builds on the trust’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, including a highly successful Capacity Clinic Room Booking project that streamlined resource management across the trust, as detailed here.

Enhancing Data Quality with Digital Solutions in Healthcare

The primary goal of the current project was to facilitate the adoption of electronic post-consultation clinic outcome forms, a move designed to greatly improve the timeliness and quality of follow-up care. By transitioning from traditional paper-based data capture to structured digital solutions, the trust has not only achieved faster turnaround times but also significantly enhanced the accuracy, quality and reliability of patient data.

A key component of this transformation was the deployment of Savience’s Clarity patient flow dashboard platform, fully supported by self-service check-in kiosks and patient calling screens through the Clarion module. These innovations have had a profound impact on the efficiency of outpatient operations, ensuring a smoother and more seamless experience for both patients and staff.

Enhance Patient Flow with Savience’s Digital Solutions

The self-service check-in kiosks have empowered patients to manage their own appointments with ease, reducing the time spent in queues and freeing up staff to focus on more critical tasks. This has not only accelerated the check-in process but also minimised bottlenecks within the department, leading to a smoother and more efficient patient flow.

The Clarion module’s patient calling capabilities further enhance this efficiency by ensuring patients are directed to the right location at the right time. Additionally, the Clarion displays real-time clinic waiting times, giving patients clear and up-to-date information that helps manage their expectations and reduces anxiety during their visit.

Real-time updates on patient status allow clinicians to manage their schedules more effectively, reducing delays and improving the overall patient experience. The system’s transparency also alleviates patient anxiety by providing clear communication throughout their visit.

A Cloud-Based Solution for Enhanced Efficiency for Patients and Staff in Healthcare

The entire digital solution is hosted on a Google Cloud Platform (GCP), a decision that has reduced overheads and lessened the support burden on the trust’s IT department. By leveraging GCP’s robust infrastructure, the trust benefits from enhanced scalability, security, and reliability, ensuring that these digital systems run smoothly and efficiently.

This project marks Savience’s first utilisation of the Google Cloud Platform, a milestone that underscores our commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
